Picnic promotes “multicultural sharing”
The University of Aveiro (UA) is hosting a picnic this Thursday, July 31st, for the entire academic community. Promoted by the UA Intercultural Space and the Local Migrant Integration Support Center, part of the institution's International Division, the initiative is seen as an opportunity for "multicultural exchange," aimed at students, faculty, researchers, and staff "of all nationalities who, for a variety of reasons, find themselves in Aveiro during the summer."
The picnic is an excuse to "bring together people from different backgrounds in an informal and intercultural environment, where there will be no shortage of sharing of flavors, music and stories," describes the Aveiro academy, which chose the song "O Melhor Dia Para Casar" (The Best Day to Get Married) , by Quim Barreiros, as inspiration for the meeting.
